The concept itself I believe was taken from Warcraft or Starcraft. In that respect, neither game is a "remake" of the other.

It's funny you mention VectorTD, since the developer of that game is now collaborating with this guy. They are working on making a multiplayer version of Desktop Tower Defense, which is currently in private beta.

Well, a few of us on IRC all played VectorTD for, like, a whole day... that was only a few days ago...
It was hard NOT to see the similarities with this one...

The private beta is now semi-private, featuring an invite-based system.
